Keep the following in mind before you begin:

  • The Vasion Print Client communicates between user devices and your Vasion Print instance to enable direct IP printing.
  • You create and organize folders to reflect your organization's printer structure before you deploy printers to users.
  • You can import printers from an existing Microsoft print server or add them manually.
  • The Service Client supports background printing operations in environments that require it.

How Installation and Setup Works

Setup follows a logical sequence: You install the Client and browser extension first, then build out your folder structure, and then add and configure printers. Each topic in this section supports a specific phase of that process.

Requirements

To complete installation and setup, you need the following:

  • A Vasion Print account with administrator permissions.
  • Administrative access to the device where you plan to install and set up the Vasion Print Client.
  • (Optional) Administrative access to any existing Microsoft print server if you plan to import printers.
