Last Updated: April 07, 2026
The Users page in Vasion Automate helps you control who can access the platform and which actions they can perform. With the Users page, you can add and manage user accounts, assign roles and permissions, and ensure that the right people can create, run, and monitor workflows.

- Only Application Admins can create, edit, and deactivate users.
- Each account requires a first name, last name, email address, and username.
- User accounts support one or more authentication methods, including Vasion local authentication, single sign-on (SSO) Single sign-on (SSO) is an authentication method that lets users access multiple apps and websites with just one set of credentials. through an identity provider (IdP) An identity provider (IdP) is a system entity that creates and manages identity information for an organization and can be authenticated by a computer system or network. Roles and permissions help you apply least privilege access to Vasion Automate apps. Users without roles have limited platform access.
- If a user needs access to Vasion Print, add them in the Admin Console The Admin Console is the main management platform that acts as the central hub for your Vasion Print instance.. For more details refer to Add a New User. You cannot manage Print access on the Vasion Automate Users page.
How the Users Page Works
The Users page shows all accounts configured in your Vasion Automate instance. On this page you can create new accounts, search for existing accounts, and access quick actions to manage individual users.
Each account uses one or more of the following authentication methods:
- Vasion: This method is the default and lets you manually create a local account that uses a username and password. You can create local accounts on the Users page.
- SSO: This method connects an account to a configured IdP. You can connect more than one IdP.
- LDAP: This method verifies an account through a directory service that the system admin configured.
IdP and LDAP accounts must be turned off in the source directory or the provider admin portal. You cannot turn them off on the Users page alone.
After you create an account, you assign a role to define what the user can access and do in Vasion Automate. For a full list of available roles, refer to Roles.
Requirements
Review the following requirements:
- You need a Vasion Automate account with the Application Admin role.
- (Optional) You need a configured IdP or LDAP connection if your organization uses centralized identity management. For more details refer to Authentication.
