High Availability
Last Updated: April 07, 2026
High Availability ensures that Vasion Output services are always on and accessible to maintain business continuity, minimize downtime, and supporting the seamless execution of customer processes.
Create High Availability
Creating a highly available Vasion Output environment involves a two-pronged approach.
- Add redundancy by deploying at least two Vasion Output Service Clients behind a load balancer.
- Strategic use of high-availability zones by using shared storage solutions. The design of these zones provides redundancy for files that an Vasion Output service has already received.
This setup achieves several goals: it distributes output loads across multiple service instances to avoid single points of failure, employs health checks to monitor and promptly address service disruptions, and ensures that new output requests are continuously accepted and processed. Doing so guarantees that the critical output from customer applications is reliably managed and delivered, irrespective of individual service failures.
Grouping services and leveraging customer-provided shared storage solutions such as Samba or Amazon S3, allow for the encryption and secure storage of received documents. In the unfortunate event of a Service Client failure, another Service Client within the redundancy group can retrieve the files from the shared storage, ensuring that critical processes continue without interruption. This dual-layered strategy safeguards the initial receipt and processing of output requests and ensures the continuity of output delivery for jobs already in the queue.
Next Steps
Connect your EHR/ERP/CRM systems and web-based applications to ensure high availability and eliminate process interruptions.
Rules and Routing allows you to set predefined criteria that automates document routing across your environment. This feature helps establish processes that minimize disruptions, improve output quality, and ensure compliance, all while reducing manual intervention.
You can establish print and output rules to:
- Overcome Downtime: Automatically redirect print jobs in cases of printer failure.
- Protect Sensitive Data: Prevent the printing of sensitive documents.
- Increase Efficiency: Distribute high-volume print jobs to multiple printers.
- Share Ownership: Reassign held print jobs to another user to release.
- Orchestrate Delivery: Duplicate print jobs or print to multiple locations.
Vasion Output provides robust security features that protect sensitive documents during transmission and storage, ensuring that only authorized users can access critical information. It includes:
- Detailed Audit Trails: Track document access and delivery for compliance and security audits.
- Zero Trust Remote Printing: Enable secure print jobs from remote facilities without costly VPNs.
- Information Security: Document and print jobs are stored locally and encrypted when at rest on our services.
Vasion’s Secure Release Print capabilities ensure that print jobs are only accessible to authorized users. Users must authenticate at the printer before releasing their documents, whether by badge swipe, entering credentials at the CPA, or scanning a QR code—preventing sensitive documents from falling into the wrong hands.
Additionally, Vasion’s SaaS platform is ISO27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2-certified to mitigate risks to customer data and help manufacturing organizations better meet their business, legal, and regulatory requirements.
