Template Sharing Overview
Last Updated: October 22, 2026
Template sharing lets a Sign template owner grant access to a template to other users.
Key Points
Review the following key points:
- A shared template appears on recipients' Documents tab alongside their own templates, with an Owner column showing who created it.
- Users have access to only the documents they send using the shared template.
- The template owner and users designated as Editors can grant access, modify what users are allowed to do, and remove access.
-
If a user no longer has access to a template, any document that was already sent using the template remains available. Removing access affects only future use of the template.
How Template Sharing Works
The template owner grants access to users who are designated as Editors or Senders.
Users with Editor permission can modify the template and grant, modify, and remove access.
Only the template owner can delete a template.
