Templates
Last Updated: May 19, 2026
A Vasion Sign template is a reusable, preconfigured document that streamlines repetitive signing workflows, such as NDAs, onboarding forms, and contracts. Instead of rebuilding a frequently used document each time, you create a template once and reuse it as needed.
Key Points
Review the following key points:
- Use templates to ensure consistency across documents that follow the same structure.
- Add placeholder signers to a template so you can assign recipients each time you send, or add fixed signers who are always the same.
- Templates preserve signing order, so you do not need to reconfigure it each time you send.
How Templates Work
A template captures the structure of a document so you can reuse it without rebuilding it. When you send a document using a template, Sign applies the field assignments and signing order automatically. You then assign recipients to any placeholder signers before sending.
Templates preserve the following:
- Document structure: All fields and labels.
- Field assignments: The signers assigned to each field, which can be either placeholder signers who you add when you send the document or fixed signers who you define when you create the template.
- Signing order: Whether signers receive the document sequentially or all at once.
Requirements
Review the following requirements:
- Access to Vasion Automate and Sign.
- A user account with appropriate permissions.
- A PDF to upload.
