The Virtual Appliance includes a Host and Application layer, each with its own version. Virtual Appliance Host and Application files are no longer available on the Admin Guide site. To obtain these files please create a support ticket with our team and include Latest Host / Application Files Request in the subject field, and your current Host and Application versions (Support & Training then About PrinterLogic) in the description. Most new Host builds include the latest Application version, and upgrading the Host also upgrades the Application layer. For more details refer to Host Upgrade Path.

  • Customers on Host build 1.0.757 or older, please contact our support team to upgrade to the latest version.
  • Customers on Host build 22.0.818-22.0.913 must complete an incremental upgrade to 22.0.933 before upgrading further.

  • Quota Management (QM) released!
    • This feature gives administrators control over how much printing can be done by a group or an individual and can be adjusted as needed at either level. In addition, these printing controls can be tracked by either volume or price. Quota Management helps manage and reduce print volume, increases user accountability, and lowers costs and environmental impact. You can find additional information in our FAQ document or by visiting our Quota Management configuration documentation. To request a demo, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Known issues:

  • For QM to function as designed, you must use a PCL or PCLXL printer driver. In some cases, proprietary or device-specific drivers may not allow QM to work correctly.
  • Currently, the Linux Client counts every print job as one page, potentially causing inaccurate quota tracking. A fix for this is in current development.
  • Printers with Pull Print enabled are presenting errors. A fix for this is in development.
  • Secure Release Print using the Windows Client is not deducting quota. A fix for this is in development.
  • The QM reporting feature is still under development and is scheduled for a Q3 release.
