Release Notes 2026

Last Updated: September 11, 2026

The Virtual Appliance includes a Host and Application layer, each with its own version. Virtual Appliance Host and Application files are no longer available on the Admin Guide site. To obtain these files please create a support ticket with our team and include Latest Host / Application Files Request in the subject field, and your current Host and Application versions (Support & Training then About PrinterLogic) in the description. Most new Host builds include the latest Application version, and upgrading the Host also upgrades the Application layer. For more details refer to Host Upgrade Path.

This topic outlines the Host, Application, Client, and Mobile releases for the given year.

Build 26.2.1912 - Release Date: Sept. 10, 2026

New Features and Enhancements

  • Multi-Badge Management: Allows a single user to have multiple badge IDs assigned and managed through SCIM, automatically reconciling badge arrays to add, retain, or remove assignments without manual intervention.
  • Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) (macOS / Linux): Adds native IPP support to the macOS and Linux Agents, enabling driverless printer deployment without requiring manufacturer-specific drivers.
  • Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) (Windows) & Protected Print (WPP): Adds IPP support for Windows Agents, enabling driverless printer deployment without requiring a manufacturer-specific driver. Also supports Windows Protected Print (WPP) mode, which restricts printing to IPP-class printers and is required for devices running in WPP-only environments.
  • Windows ARM Support: The Windows Agent now runs natively on ARM-based Windows devices. IPP printers are fully supported on ARM; driver-based printing has limited coverage on ARM hardware.
  • Scan to Home: Enables users to scan documents directly from an multifunction printer (MFP) to their personal Active Directory home directory using their own credentials, with user identity preserved in file metadata for access control and audit trail requirements.
  • Searchable PDF: Automatically applies OCR to scanned documents at scan time, producing a PDF with an embedded text layer that supports full-text search, text selection, and copying with no post-processing required.
  • Virtual Appliance Output: New advanced settings control how long the service retains print jobs before removal and how the system triggers cleanup of those eligible jobs.

For more details refer to What's New in Virtual Appliance.

Control Panel Application (CPA)

  • Resolved an issue where CPA in Listener mode could not authenticate CAC / PIV users on Xerox devices because it searched the wrong user attribute. PI-85172

  • Fixed the on-screen message shown when the CPA launches on certain printer models. PI-70055
  • Extended Single Sign-On (SSO) user lookups to support additional user attributes, including EDIPI, for CAC / PIV authentication. PI-84887
  • Resolved an issue where CPA on Ricoh devices cached CAC user credentials and reused them for sign-in after a device reboot, bypassing card authentication. PI-81302

Build 26.1.1778 May 1, 2026

New Features and Enhancements

Bring Your Own (BYO) SMTP: You can now configure your own Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server for Scan to Email. This update gives you more control over email delivery and lets you use your organization's existing email infrastructure for scanned documents. This feature supports username and password authentication for SMTP servers and Google Workspace, and OAuth 2.0 for Microsoft Exchange. This feature is in beta, and is only available upon request. Contact your Vasion representative with questions or to enable this feature.

Continuous Scan: Toshiba e-Studio and Konica Minolta bEST-certified devices now support combining multiple scan jobs into a single PDF. Scan individual pages from the glass, batch scan large documents from the automatic document feeder (ADF), or mix both sources without manually merging files.

Delegated Release: Delegated Release is an expansion of the Direct Secure Release print feature. Direct Secure Release is a secure printing method that holds documents in a print queue until the authorized user releases them at a printer. With Delegated Release the initiator, which is the user who sent the print job, defines delegates who can release print jobs at the Control Panel Application (CPA) on their behalf. Virtual Appliance

Build 26.2.345 - Release Date: Sept.

Build 26.1.303 May 1, 2026

This Host includes Application version 26.1.1778, which is only available by upgrading to this Host build. Selecting the Update Now button in the console while on a previous Host build will not update the Application to the latest version.
