Connect OneDrive

OneDrive Connection Requirements

To connect Vasion to OneDrive you need the following:

• Access to the Microsoft Entra.
• Access to SharePoint and permissions to create a site, if necessary.
• Register the Vasion Automate Pro Product application. (Covered on this topic)
• Vasion Automate Pro Admin rights.

If you previously connected OneDrive or SharePoint to Vasion Automate Pro you don't need to create a new app registration in Entra ID (Azure AD). You can skip down to Find Client ID and Client Secret.

Manage App Registrations

Register the Vasion Automate Pro application to obtain the Client ID, and get or create Client Secret details.

Manage App Registrations

1. Navigate to https://entra.microsoft.com/
2. Go to Entra ID and select App registrations.
3. Select New registration, and complete the necessary steps on the Register an application page.

Find Client ID and Tenant ID

Once the app registration is complete, do the following:

1. In the registered application list, select the created Vasion app.
2. In the app Overview page, locate the following:
   1. Application (client) ID — Use these values when setting up the connection.
   2. Directory (tenant) ID — Use these values when setting up the connection.

Find the Client Secret

1. Under the Manage section on the left-side navigation select Certificates & secrets. If you need to create the Client secret you can see the Entra documentation using the link above.
2. Use these values when setting up the connection.

It can take 3 minutes or more for the connection to register before it is available to configure in Vasion Automate Pro.

Connect OneDrive

1. Select the Admin App and select Storage Setup, then Cloud Storage in the navigation menu.

2. Double-click Add Storage Provider.

   

3. In the Add Cloud Storage Provider modal, select OneDrive and select Continue.

4. In the Connect OneDrive modal enter the following:
   1. Cloud Connection Description — enter a unique name that identifies this cloud storage connection. This name is displayed when navigating to this location in the Vasion apps.
   2. Client ID — enter the Application (client) ID details from the Entra application browser tab (Obtained in the Find Client and Tenant ID steps.)

   3. Client Secret — enter the Secret from the Entra application browser tab (Obtained in the Find Client and Tenant ID steps.)

      

   4. Use for Data Automation Only — check this box if the storage connection is only used for the Import or Export automations.

5. Copy the Client URI text and go back to the Entra browser tab.
6. Select Authentication on the left side navigation.
7. Find the Redirect URIs section and paste the client URI you copied from the Vasion module in the text box field.
   1. If the Redirect URIs section does not exist, see the Entra help documentation configure platform settings.
8. Select Save at the top of the Authentication page.
9. Go back to Vasion Connect OneDrive modal in the browser tab and select Finish Setup.

10. Once you're redirected to the Microsoft Authentication page, log in and authorize the app.

When the drive is connected you should see a successful connection alert.

If you have selected to use the drive for data automation only, the drive does not display when navigating storage locations in the Vasion apps. The drive is only visible when configuring Import or Export automations. For more details, see Import / Export.

Edit the OneDrive Connection

You can make any updates to the connection at any time by doing the following:

1. Double-click the cloud storage connection tile.

   

2. Update the information in the appropriate fields.

   

3. Select Authorize.

Delete the OneDrive Connection

To delete the cloud storage connection do the following

1. Double-click the connection tile.

   

2. Select Delete Connection.

   

3. In the delete confirmation modal select Yes.
