Watch Folder Trigger

A watch folder workflow trigger automatically starts a workflow when a new document is added to the selected folder in third party storage. This system-level trigger requires no action from end users and runs in the background of your Vasion Automate environment.

Key Points

Review the following key points:

  • Only OneDrive and Google Drive folders are able to be selected as watch folders. To configure third party storage, see Integrations.

  • You assign watch folder triggers during workflow creation or editing.

  • The system will monitor the folder automatically and start a workflow for each new document added to the folder.

Documents that are renamed or edited and saved within the folder will not trigger this workflow trigger.

How it Works

The system monitors for new documents added to the folder. A new workflow is started for each new document once it is added.

Monitoring and workflow initiation is in real-time. There is no need to configure a check interval or any similar configuration.
