Print To Sign
Last Updated: May 19, 2026
Print To Sign lets end users send documents for electronic signature directly from the print dialog (Ctrl+P or File > Print). Instead of selecting a printer, users choose Send to Vasion Sign and the document is captured, converted to a PDF, and immediately routed into Vasion Sign for signature collection.
Key Points
The following are important things to know about Print To Sign:
- Documents submitted through Print To Sign are not physically printed. The document is routed to Vasion Sign instead.
- Print To Sign uses the Send to Vasion Sign object in the tree structure.
- No workflow selection dialog appears when a user selects Send to Vasion Sign. The document is routed to Vasion Sign automatically.
- Admins must deploy the Send to Vasion Sign object to users before it appears in the print dialog. For more details refer to Printer Deployment.
- There are two file size limitations to be aware of:
- 2 GB upload limit.
- 50 MB post-conversion limit.
- Failures are silent on the user side. The Client log displays a 413 error, but there is not a user notification that printing to the object has failed.
How It Works
When a user selects Send to Vasion Sign from the print dialog, the Vasion Client captures the document and converts it to a PDF. The document is then submitted directly to the user's Vasion Sign tab.
Once the document is in Vasion Sign, apply the field options, add signers, and send the document out for signature collection.
